Workshops

Workshops are designed to help target a specific area of leadership development a student feels they need to improve. They are single classes held for about 1-2 hours. Each is ran by a trained YLA facilitator and is a fantastic way to be introduced to the YLA experience.

In order to keep offering new and exciting content our workshop calendar changes regularly but if one is interesting to you feel free to fill out an interest form so that we know to offer it again soon!

1

Servant Leadership Project

We begin to show students the power of getting out and creating a change. While helping the community we work on teamwork, communication, and outreach to show the strength of a leader willing to go out and make a difference

2

How to Take up Space

This workshop is about channeling your authentic self and making a statement.

We go through different presentation tactics and public speaking challenges to help every student be able to confidently share their ideas and goals in a powerful way

3

Making Memorable Connections

So much of life is about building strong relationships. We work with students to show the power of speaking first and opening the door to new opportunities. Additionally, we focus on bringing a memorable and positive twist to meeting people for the first time to ensure they will be rememebered.

Athletic Leadership
Workshops

YLA knows that leadership can happen anywhere. Sports are often one of the first places you think of to see what a good leader looks like. Our workshops offer a place to work on the leadership skills in a focused environment before they are needed on the court, field, course, pool, ect...

1

Next Play Mentality

Did you know that the thing that often sets pros from MVPs is often how quickly they are able to move on from a mistake. We will dive into how a player can rework their mind to accept their mistakes and move on quicker.

2

Trust That Wins Games

Whether you are on a new team, or playing with people you've known since you were 4, trust in your team is a powerful thing. Without trust, the team will fail. Each student will understand what it takes to be considered trustworthy and bring more to their teams.

3

Know What You Bring

Not every student will be their team's top point scorer. This doesn't mean they are not essential for the success and growth of the team. Things like energy, work ethic, and being supportive are choices any player can make. When a player walks on the floor aware of how they show up with these, coaches and teamates notice.
